Buttock Lift

Button Lift
Body Prodecure

Genetics will often determine the shape and size of the body, including the buttocks, and we are not always happy with the figure that nature has provided us with. In selected cases, a buttock lift can help to improve the appearance of the bottom when its appearance is not as desired, or if ageing has caused this part of the body to sag and become wrinkled.

Buttock lifting often takes between 2 and 3 hours. At REAL plastic surgery we use a general anaesthetic and you may be able to go home the same day.

You may need to take up to 4 weeks off work with most people having significantly recovered within 6 weeks. Sitting will be limited, but you can stand, and lie on your side after surgery.

In most cases 1 procedure can produce long-term results.

To create a more shapely appearance of the bottom.

You may need to avoid strenuous exercise and the gym for up to 6 or 8 weeks.

If you have any doubts. Our team of experts will provide support and guidance all the way through your treatment journey; using the consultation to determine your suitability and your certainty.

What to expect on the day

During your pre-treatment consultation we will establish which technique will best suit your concerns. During the procedure we will remove skin and tissue so that the buttocks can be lifted to a more pert position.

REAL plastic surgery can perform the following types of surgeries: an upper buttock lift – effective for creating an overall lifted effect; a lower buttock lift – in cases of moderate sagging; a butterfly buttock lift – for tightening the skin as well as repositioning the buttocks and; lateral buttock lift – when the patient is concerned with moderate sagging and excess skin.

The buttock lift can be used alongside other body contouring procedures to help improve the overall appearance of the body and restore shapely contouring. Other procedures can include: liposuction, thigh lift, abdominoplasty, and the mummy makeover.

Showering after the buttock lift

In most cases, a patient has sufficiently healed within 48 or 72 hours, when it may be suitable to take a shower. Our team will ensure that you are properly advised with regard to aftercare advice during the time you leave the clinic and your first follow-up appointment.

Follow up and aftercare

Your first follow up appointment will be 1 week after the procedure. We will assess your healing and review your developing results. We will provide you with further aftercare advice and will arrange for your next appointment, which will be 6 weeks after surgery.

Frequently Asked Questions
  • Am I suitable for this procedure?

Many people are concerned with the appearance of their buttocks, whether it is due to its natural shape and size or if ageing has caused it to sag and develop loose and wrinkled skin. The buttock lift can help to lift the bottom and remove excess loose skin.

  • Are the results permanent?

A surgical procedure to help lift and the butocks and improve their contouring can have long-term effects. If ageing has been the cause for concern, this process will continue and the buttocks may appear to sag in the future, but it will be in several years to come.

  • Will there be much scarring?

The type of procedure that is performed will determine the amount of scarring that is left behind. Your surgeon will discuss the technique they intend to use, during the consultation, and will explain where the incisions will be made and where to expect scarring to appear. As with all our procedures, we aim to keep scarring as discreet as possible.
