Brow Lift

Brow Lift
Face Prodecure

A surgical procedure known as a brow lift can help to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles on the upper part of the face, as well as to elevate the eyebrows and sagging skin around the eyes. It is sometimes a better alternative to an upper blepharoplasty – we can advise you when we see you. Incisions are hidden in the hairline and Nav likes to use an anchoring implant to hold the brow in its new lifted position. This implant will dissolve away in time.

A brow lift usually takes up to 90 minutes. We use a general anaesthetic and you can go home on the same day.

You need to take things easy for a few weeks. The procedure may require you to take up to 2 weeks off work.

In many cases only 1 procedure is required for long-term results. However, natural ageing will continue so you may want to review your appearance in some years to come.

To create a more youthful and refreshed appearance of the upper face.

Sports and exercise may need to be avoided for approx. 4 - 6 weeks.

If you have any doubts. Our team of experts will provide support and guidance all the way through your treatment journey; using the consultation to determine your suitability and your certainty.

What to expect on the day

Your surgeon will assess your concerns before deciding which approach to use during the surgery. Endoscopic brow lift is the least invasive approach and involves a series of small incisions to be made around the hairline.

With the use of a small camera, the underlying tissues are adjusted to help elevate the brow before the wounds are closed. Coronal brow lift is also known as the ‘classic brow lift’ whereby the excess skin and tissues are removed before being pulled tight through an incision made along the hairline. A temporal brow lift may be used when a less dramatic result is required, lifting the outer brow to rejuvenate the appearance.

Showering after a brow lift

The face will need to be kept dry for around 3 days, so we advise not to shower during this time. Following our aftercare advice will ensure the results develop successfully.

Follow up and aftercare

We will need to see you 1 week, 6 weeks and 3 months after the procedure when we will assess your healing and recovery. Aftercare advice may include: avoiding driving, avoiding heavy lifting, avoiding exercise and strenuous activities and taking time off work.

Frequently Asked Questions
  • Can the brow lift be performed alongside other procedures?

A brow lift can be carried out as part of a combination of procedures to help produce a rejuvenated appearance that looks youthful and refreshed. Procedures can include: face lift, neck lift, blepharoplasty and jawline contouring.

  • Are there any side effects or risks?

Common side effects include swelling and bruising around the upper and mid face. This may take a few weeks to subside when the incisions have sufficiently healed. The full results may take several weeks to develop.

  • Are the results permanent?

A surgical approach helps to ensure a long term result is achieved. Although the signs of ageing may appear to reverse following the procedure, the ageing process will continue to progress. It may take several years before they become noticeable as the skin and underlying muscles weaken further.
