Nav has been a consultant in the NHS since 2009.
Nav now works part time at the NHS but is, never the less, very busy there.
Having started as a micro-surgeon undertaking breast reconstruction for his first few years as a Consultant, he moved on to complex trauma reconstruction working in the then new major trauma centre at Kings alongside the orthopaedic team there.
He has since focused more on complex reconstructions working with other surgical specialties such as cardiothoracic, neurosurgery, general surgery and still quite a bit of orthopaedics. These are the more complex, interesting cases, where the other surgical team might require a plastic surgeon to help undertake reconstruction following extensive surgery on their part.
This means that Nav is very much used to working with colleagues and is also not afraid to ask for their help when he thinks your surgery might be a little bit out of his comfort zone.
